A new heat plant with an output of 100/150 MW is developed on the premises of Vattenfall Wärme Hamburg GmbH on Haferweg. In order to generate growth in Altona and the City, a district heating distribution line is to be installed from the company premises through parts of the Hamburg Altona district.
The planned new pipeline route measures approx. 3.5 km from the exit at the Haferweg heat plant to its connection on Ehrenbergstrasse. It crosses both public and private areas as well as extremely busy main transport routes. The pipeline is primarily laid underground as plastic sheath pipe and in parts elevated as an underfloor pipeline.
