The premises of H & R Ölwerke Schindler GmbH are located in Hamburg-Neuhof. The object of the project was the new construction of a compact oil separation plant for the refinery waste water as part of the overall sewage plant. The Steinbeis Transfer Centre in Meschede had developed the environmental process engineering. The plant comprises various components and serves to clean oil-contaminated waste water.

Health and safety services
Due to hydraulic and process engineering requirements, the planning task involved positioning the approx. 40 t components of the compact plant at a height of approx. 8 m and integrating the plant into the existing drainage system.
Various states of construction as well as space restriction on-site had to be taken into account. A steel profile substructure was developed and calculated for the complex plant engineering. In accordance with the requirements of the Water Resources Act (WHG) and the Hamburg Ordinance on Installations for the Handling of Substances Hazardous to Water (VAwS), the steel structure had to be based on a watertight reinforced concrete tank construction. Once the area had been examined for explosive and suspected unexploded ordnance, the existing contaminated ground was replaced up to a depth of 1.60 m.
